Oystar

shaping an early childhood platform from research through to interface

Oystar is a South African early childhood development platform built for parents, teachers, and school owners. The product brings operational tooling — class messaging, attendance, assessments, fees — to crèches and preschools, designed for a user base where the cost of mobile data shapes every product decision.

We helped shape Oystar from its early stages, running user research and interviews, testing concepts with parents and teachers, and designing the parent-facing and teacher-facing mobile interfaces alongside the web admin for school owners. Our scope covered research, product design, UX and UI, and the design system underneath.
